Elizabeth Siew is a lawyer, author and in demand speaker on all things legal. Dubbed the “48-hour superwoman”, she recently successfully concluded the LEPRO Trilogy covering Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Penang to raise awareness on the importance of secure data and blockchain technology in the legal and real estate profession. Embodying the “live, work and play” concept, our legal eagle talks to us why she chose to set up her home and office in Puchong.

Why did you choose to live in Puchong?
I chose to live here as it is near my work place. I love how vibrant the area is – it has everything that I need. Most importantly, Puchong enjoys easy accessibility via the various highways.
What do you look for when setting up an office address?
When setting up an office, it has to be near business opportunities for the company. In our case, as we are real estate lawyers, our selection criteria will be near where there are property developments and future development potential and potential of growth in property transactions. Also a good indicator is where it is near to lots of real estate agencies and banks.
Why did you choose to set up your office in Puchong?
There is a lot of vibrancy in the business activities here. For example, there are a lot of small to medium sized businesses and business owners who are now staying in Puchong. In addition, there is a significant Gen Y population who have now moved to Puchong.
When did you open your business for operation?
Our office opened for business in December 2006.
What is the rental like in Puchong in RM per sq ft?
The rental is between RM2.00 to RM2.50 per square foot, depending on the location and type of offices. Generally, shop offices are cheaper in rental while those in office buildings are more expensive.
What are the great things that you like about Puchong?
One word – convenience. Puchong is on the way from Kuala Lumpur to KLIA. It also enjoys great accessibility to many places in Klang Valley via the LDP and Federal Highways
And the not so great?
Sometimes, the traffic can be bad.
What is your experience like commuting to work?
I usually take the car. However since the opening of the LRT line, there are many stops between Kinrara to Putra Heights passing through Puchong which has enhanced accessibility here.
Let’s talk about the Ampang LRT Extension Line. Yay or nay? Why?
Yay definitely. With the extension line, the LRT has expanded its reach through Sri Petaling, Kinrara, Puchong (in fact, there are six stations covering the Puchong area) before ending at Putra Heights, Subang.
A large part of Puchong is now connected via the LRT line. This will create a positive spillover impact on property and real estate in many part of Puchong.
Whats your favourite makan place in Puchong?
Honestly, there are so many good makan places in Puchong. In fact, if we were to try just one restaurant a day, we will not be able to cover all the makan places.

Vibrant business environment for the small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and great expansion potential considering it is on-the-way to the hot spots between KL to KLIA and Putrajaya / Cyberjaya. In the next 10 years, I foresee the township and development to continue expanding. Eventually, I predict Puchong, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Klang and KLIA to expand their development perimeters and converge into a metropolis.
